Todd Smith was absolutely great! He was very thorough, very clean, and had a great personality. He treated my wife and I with great respect and made sure to cover everything. He took his time to make sure the job was completed to our satisfaction. He even worked with our home warranty company with ease. If I EVER have plumbing issues again, which I'm sure I will.. he will be the first phone call. Thanks again!

First, can I just comment on how professional Mr. Rooter was from the very first phone call to schedule service. Since it wasn't an emergency, they had me choose from selected "2 hour windows" where they were committed to arriving. They sent a text with a photo of my expected tech (what a great feature so you know for sure who is coming to your house, especially these days), and emails as reminders. Plus the tech (Zach) called when he was ready to come and asked me if the time was still ok with me. How convenient! He put little booties over his shoes each time he entered my home. He was clean in appearance and personable from the start. Truly very friendly and I felt comfortable having him in my home. Zach has 15+ years experience according to the little bio Mr. Rooter sent me ahead of time, and it shows. Jacob, his trainee with a few years experience, was on his way to becoming independent very soon. Just needing to learn the Mr. Rooter ropes. I wanted a kitchen sink sprayer installed. Love those handy things but never had one because for some reason my dishwasher's aerator was located in that same spot. Zach explained to me how things have changed over the years, showed me how the sprayer and hose would connect under my sink so that nothing would back up, and all in a manner that I actually understood! Then he and Jacob worked together very quickly to get my sprayer installed and and working. Who knew such a small thing could bring so much joy. While he was there, Zach asked if he could inspect my plumbing or if I had any other concerns. I mentioned my toilet made bubbling sounds for quite awhile. He said he would take a look. I thought maybe something was caught in the line. He inspected with a camera but told me he doubted that was the case as usually if there was an air pocket or something with the sewer, I would also hear bubbling in my shower and sink in the same bathroom, which I never have. After camera inspection was complete and nothing was in the line, and since my toilet was 22 years old, he suggested a new one might be in order since I didn't like plunging it. He told me he could install it at that time if I wanted it since it was in the window of time allotted for me and he didn't have another call to attend to right away, or he could come back at another convenient time, whichever I chose. (There is some sort of good discount to have work done in the same day, so that was a plus!) Well, he and Jacob had 2 styles (round or oval) of Kohler toilets to choose from on his truck, high efficiency (half-flush and full-flush) with "quiet-close" toilet seats included to boot. Those seats are awesome when you have kids who just slam everything down, ha. I think they had that toilet done within an hour from start to finish! BTW, this was written by the woman of the house, but Zach willingly spoke to my husband over the phone about the toilet while he was here, so I didn't feel any pressure to make a decision on my own. So now I am scheduling a time for Mr. Rooter to come and install a sink basin in my garage for dirty clean up jobs. Zach was able to figure out how everything would connect from my basement and inside bathroom to my garage. He also said he would do a full sewer inspection with his camera when that happens. Can't wait….really. They are knowledgeable, professional, respectable, and very nice too!

I had exemplary service for a gas hot water heater installation. Zach came out for the quote and explained all the options, without trying to sell me anything I didn't need. He returned later for a quick, professional installation.

Mr. Rooter did an excellent and professional job with replacing a sewer line to my property. I highly recommend their services!

Frequently Asked Questions About Drain Cleaning in Earlville, Delaware

We have provided the answers to many of our most frequently asked questions to help our customers get the information they need. Our friendly team is here to answer all your commercial and residential plumbing questions.

  • When determining the costs of drain cleaning services, you may find that where you live, your service provider, the type of drain to be cleaned, and whether they find any problems while cleaning your drains can factor into what you pay. Whether you’ve hired someone to clean your main lines or in-home drains like bathrooms, kitchens, and toilets will determine what you pay for drain cleaning services. Drain cleaning service providers use advanced tools like drain snakes and Hydroscrub® Jetting to clean drains, which often determines the price of the service. The drain cleaning invoice you receive can be influenced by factors like a scheduled versus emergency service, drain condition, and the presence of clogs and where they’re located.

  • There are many ways to tell that you need professional drain cleaning, such as when you’re experiencing persistent or recurring drain clogs that home remedies don’t seem to fix. As soon as you notice multiple clogged drains or an issue with your main home drainage, call a drain cleaning plumbing professional for assistance. Homeowners and businesses should call professional drain cleaning if they have wastewater backing up into sinks, tubs, and toilets, overflowing toilets, and gurgling sounds coming from toilets and drains. It’s time to call a drain cleaning professional if you can smell awful odors coming from in or near your drains

  • If you’re a property owner with older plumbing or want to stay on top of drain maintenance and prevent problems, book drain cleaning services every year. When you have a new, modern plumbing system and no history of issues, prioritize drain cleaning services with professionals every two or three years. Stay on top of your plumbing systems’ maintenance as a high-usage home or business by booking regular drain cleaning services with a trusted service provider. If you’re unsure about the ideal timing for your next drain cleaning, reach out to a reliable drain cleaning company for professional advice.

  • It’s not uncommon for most respected drain cleaning service providers to travel around with a broad range of drain cleaning equipment to suit commercial and residential properties. Most drain cleaning professionals and plumbers will use manual or powered plumbing snakes to help property owners break up and remove any clogs in their plumbing systems. HydroScrub® Jetting is a common drain cleaning solution for many highly regarded drain cleaning service providers because it’s effective for clearing blockages and cleaning pipes. Your chosen drain cleaning service provider may use a number of different tools like hand tools, pipe wrenches, and pipe inspection tools, depending on how in-depth their drain cleaning service needs to be.

  • Prioritizing regular plumbing maintenance with a trusted plumbing service provider will help property owners prevent drain blockages and clogs. If you use drain screens in your home or business to catch problematic debris like food particles and hair, they can’t enter the drain and block it. A number of home drain cleaning remedies, like hot water, baking soda, and vinegar, may keep your drains clog-free and smelling fresh. Start healthy habits for preventing clogs, such as being mindful of what you flush down your drains, not disposing of grease and oil down your drains, and prioritizing regular garbage disposal maintenance.

  • In addition to scheduling regular drain cleaning service at least once or twice a year, your local plumbing expert can suggest additional drain maintenance options. On the advice of plumbing service providers, you can install drain screens in sinks, baths, and showers to stop debris from entering your drains. Talk to your local plumber about using pantry staples and home ingredients like warm water, vinegar, and baking soda to keep your drains clean, clear, and smelling fresh. A general recommendation by most plumbers is that you should only ever flush waste and toilet paper down your toilet to avoid frustrating clogs and the need for emergency drain cleaning.

  • You would be hard-pressed to find a plumbing service provider who would tell a business owner or homeowner to buy chemical drain cleaners for their drains. Plumbers recommend safer, gentler alternatives to chemical drain cleaners for drain maintenance and cleaning, such as dish soap, warm water, baking soda, and vinegar. Drain cleaning service providers offering drain snakes and HydroScrub® Jetting are a worthwhile and effective alternative to chemical drain cleaners that you would just tip down your drains. Drain cleaners are not recommended for drains because they can erode pipes that have the potential to lead to costly problems later on, compromise your indoor air quality, kill good bacteria, and burn or irritate your skin if they contain dangerous chemicals.

  • As soon as you notice a slow-draining or non-draining sink, inspect the sink trap, also known as the P-trap, which can become blocked with debris. A clogged drain line caused by debris or build-up is a common reason why sinks become clogged and won’t drain. If you’ve always poured grease and oil down your drains, it can solidify in your drain, causing clogs and stopping water from draining properly. A number of things contribute to sinks not draining, like pipe venting problems, pipe damage, main sewer line problems, and poor pipe installation and layout.

  • You may have luck clearing minor clogs with household products like hot water, baking soda, and vinegar, as well as prioritizing regular drain cleaning with a trusted local plumbing expert. When grease and grime cause drain blockages, tip hot water and dish soap down your drain as a cleaning and unblocking solution. When home remedies aren’t enough to shift drain blockages, contact your local plumbing service provider to learn more about drain snakes and HydroScrub® Jetting for removing blockages. If you have a minor clog in your drain, pour salt and baking soda down it as an abrasive but gentle cleanser.

  • A plumbing snake is an effective way to clean the drain pipes in your bathroom, which involves inserting the plumbing snake into your drain opening, turning the handle to push it deeper into the pipes, and slowly pulling the snake out with any clogs attached to it. It may only take around half an hour to clean out your bathroom drain if you tip baking soda and vinegar down it and leave it to sit. Hot water with dish soap left to break down grease and soap scum in your bathroom drains for 10 minutes may be helpful for drain cleaning and clearing. Unclogging drain pipes can be overwhelming, which is why many people leave this job to professional drain-cleaning experts.
