Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

The fact that they have 24 Hour service and actually answered the phone. My sump pump quit working in the middle of the night and they were able to get someone out to look at the problem and due to the rain we were getting the guy actually put a new pump in his vehicle the night before as a just in case and I happened to be the just in case. The service guy was very nice and quick to get the pump replaced which in turn helped stop the water from doing any more damage than it already had done in my finished basement. He was also able to get a remediation company out to my house within an hour to get carpet and flooring out and get blowers running to help dry everything out.

Frequently Asked Questions About Drain Cleaning in Centerville, Ohio

You can have many of your drain cleaning-related questions answered in our ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ below. Contact Mr. Rooter Plumbing® in Centerville, Ohio to have all your plumbing-related questions answered.

  • The costs associated with drain cleaning varies based on the service provider you choose, where you’re located, the type of drain (sink, tub, sewer line), and whether drain cleaning reveals any further problems that require addressing. The complexity of the drain cleaning, whether it’s for main lines, kitchen sinks, bathroom drains, or toilets, can influence the pricing, as each type requires specific tools and techniques. Many drain cleaning companies use tools and techniques like drain augers and Hydroscrub® Jetting to clean drains, which may impact how much your drain cleaning service costs. Your system’s overall condition, whether or not your drain cleaning is an emergency service, and the location of any clogs in your plumbing system will determine the drain cleaning bill you receive.

  • Ongoing problems with clogs in your drains are a sign that you need professional drain cleaning service. If you’re dealing with multiple clogged drains and slow drainage, there is something wrong with your plumbing system or sewer pipes that requires professional help. Wastewater backing up into your sink, toilet, or tub and gurgling sounds in your drains can all indicate that drain cleaning is required as soon as possible. Don’t ignore foul smells coming from in or around your drains — these can indicate the need for professional drain cleaning services due to blockages and bacteria.

  • To maintain your plumbing systems and avoid major problems — especially in older plumbing systems — you should request drain cleaning services every year. When you have modern plumbing and no history of issues, schedule drain cleaning services with a trusted company every two or three years. If your home or business has plumbing systems that are used by large numbers of people every day, prioritize more frequent drain cleaning on a regular schedule. If you don’t know how frequently to book drain cleaning to keep your plumbing systems healthy, contact a trusted drain cleaning company for advice.

  • Ask your local and trusted drain cleaning service provider, and they’ll likely tell you that they tap into a range of tools and technologies to provide quality drain cleaning and clog clearing services. Manual and powered plumbing snakes or plumbing augers are standard tools in the average drain cleaning service provider’s toolkit, which are helpful for breaking up and removing clogs. Many plumbers looking to clear stubborn clogs will rely on hydro-jetting to get rid of debris, grease, and other blockages in pipes. Many of the best plumbers load up their tool bags with drain cleaning equipment like inspection cameras, pipe inspection tools, rooter machines, hand tools, and pipe wrenches.

  • Regular plumbing system maintenance and servicing will go a long way toward keeping drains clean and avoiding clogs and blockages. Installing drain screens can help business owners and homeowners avoid plumbing emergencies and drain clogs by effectively trapping debris like food, hair, and other waste before it gets into the plumbing system. Use common kitchen ingredients like baking soda, vinegar, and hot water to keep your drains clean, fresh, and at a reduced risk of frustrating blockages. Treating your drains with respect may contribute to many years of clog-free drains, such as not tipping grease and oil down them and maintaining your garbage disposal system.

  • Plumbing experts suggest booking drain cleaning once or twice a year, but you can also ask them if they have other drain maintenance suggestions for maintaining your plumbing system’s health. Ask most plumbing professionals, and they will tell you that keeping drains clean can be as straightforward as installing drain screens in sinks, baths, and showers. Keep your drains clean and free of clogs with ingredients you have at home, including baking soda, vinegar, and warm water, which can be all it takes to maintain fresh-smelling drains. Most reputable plumbers would agree that one of the best ways to keep your drains and toilets clean and clog-free is by never flushing anything other than waste and toilet paper.

  • Most plumbing service providers with good reputations don’t recommend that homeowners and business owners use chemical drain cleaners to maintain their drains and keep them fresh and clean. Rather than recommending chemical drain cleaners, plumbing service providers suggest hot water, dish soap, baking soda, and vinegar for clearing drains and maintaining their cleanliness. Rather than stock up on drain cleaning chemicals, contact your local drain cleaning service provider for regular services with drain cleaning tools like hydrojetting and drain snakes. Many drain cleaners on the market are not recommended because they have the potential to cause expensive plumbing problems, irritate your skin, eradicate good bacteria, and even affect indoor air quality.

  • Inspect your P-trap or sink trap when your sink isn’t draining because there may be a blockage within it caused by debris like hair and food. A build-up of debris like food, hair, and other foreign materials in your drain lines can be a common cause of sinks not draining quickly — or at all. If you often tip grease and oil down your drains, your slow-draining or non-draining sink can be caused by that grease and oil becoming solid and stopping water and other liquids from getting through. Not all slow-draining sink issues relate to blockages; venting problems, pipe damage, issues with main sewer lines, and even how your pipes were installed can all be the cause.

  • Try a baking soda and vinegar solution for clearing clogs in your drain, which requires letting half a cup of vinegar and half a box of baking soda sit in your drains for 30 minutes. If you suspect that a blockage in your drain has been caused by grease and grime, tip warm water and dish soap down your drain and wait — it might be enough to clear the clog. Stubborn blockages aren’t always easy to clear with solutions you tip down your drains — discuss drain snakes, HydroScrub® Jetting, and other solutions with your local drain cleaning professionals. Pour salt and baking soda down your drains to scrub and dissolve buildup in your pipes.

  • Use a plumbing snake to clear the drain pipes in your bathroom by inserting it into the drain opening, turning the handle to push it deeper, and then slowly withdrawing it to remove any attached clogs. Pantry ingredients like half a cup of vinegar with half a cup of baking soda left in your drain for 30 minutes may loosen debris and provide a clean finish. A mixture of hot water and dish soap left in your bathroom drains for 10 minutes may assist in breaking down grease and soap scum, making drain clearing easier. If you don’t feel confident unclogging or cleaning your bathroom drains, reach out to plumbing service providers in your area to take care of this task for you.
